20 YEARS FACTA NON VERBA

Facta Non Verba was founded in 2002 and has organized
numerous theatrical performances, street theaters, events, concerts and has participated in various initiatives and activist and socio-political actions.
In addition, it organizes the Liberal Festival of Theatrical Expression
Periodically.
Facta Non Verba, after a period of reflection and fermentation, opens a new cycle and in an effort to create a meaningful dialogue with society and our season, announces its new course:
the search and configuration of the principles that will contribute to the creation of the Theater of Communication, as we call it.
The Theater of Communication is a combination of art, free creation, politics and ritual. Aims at communication, cooperation and co-creation
with the aim the theater to become what it is by its nature:
collective art of communication by individuals.

FACTA NON VERBA in Time
We can focus in tree different periods that the team had different stages and priorities focused in different directions.
2002 - 2014
in the underground theater at Ionos Dragoumi 65, main goal
the socialization of resilience and participation
in social-political ventures and precise actions.
2014 - 2017
in the landscaped theater in the squate "Fabrica Yfanet",
a period of introspection and reflection.
2017 until today :
at Valaoritou 18 on the 7th floor, where they inaugurate and experiment
on what they calls the "Theater of Communication".
The basic principles of the team:
Equality - Respect - Collectivity
Resistance - Self-organization - Solidarity
Positive vision creation and not destruction
Socio-political and liberating character of art
Collective creation - Direct democracy, here and now
The theater as a tool for the emancipation of the artist and the spectator

F ACTA NON V ERBA
Facta Non Verba was founded in 2002 and is based in Thessaloniki .
In the eighteen-year course of has staged
some originals and some in the first pan-Hellenic premiere.
FnV has organized street theaters and theatrical solidarity actions,
as well as numerous theatrical workshops, seminars and events.
Among them, in 2003 they collaborated with the historic American theatre group The Living Theater in a series of theatrical actions.
In the fall of 2017, it entered the third cycle of its course,
introducing into the field of its explorations,
the Theater of Communication. Term created
to concentrate in research of ways
and tools that will emerge an effective and creative
communication between the members who experience the theatrical process
either as acting performers or as emancipated spectators.
The Searches of the Theater of Communication use as a prism
the fundamental triptych of theatrical art:
ritual, politics and aesthetics in an effort
to contribute to self-knowledge, transformation and creation.
Within the framework of the Theater of Communication,
we take as called the pandemic conditions,
to reposition and use the available means, to get in touch , to create
and enhance communication channels at a time
who needs it more than ever.
And always remember that the nature of art is to inspire,
to transform, to heal and connect.

To put our art in the vision
and not the ghost of freedom.
That's the reason we decided
to create the theatrical group
Facta Non Verba .
A team that works
in the context of anti-authoritarian collectivism
and does not accept authorities, pioneers, intellectuals and artistic elites.
Against the standards that are imposed
from the culture of domination
against ourselves
and our insecurities,
we will try to walk
on the road to social liberation.
Theater is by nature
an art on purely collective basis.
It is a ritual that has a purpose
to revitalize society.
Otherwise it has no reason to exist.
Today, in the service of power,
has lost its meaning and its power.
That is why the theater must become anarchist.
To regain its true purpose.
That of transformation, of knowledge,
of sensuality and clarity.
